I named my son Caspian and have received nothing but compliments about the originality and romantic connotations of the name. And yet when I was pregnant, 90% of friends and family rated it last on our short list or adamantly swore it was ridiculous or plain awful. 'Youve got to be kidding' was a typical response. It really threw me and I scrambled to find another name I liked as much. I'm so glad my partner stood by the name in the finish. It had been my fav since I was 18, so it was a long time before I used it at 42 for my son. It's the perfect name. Everybody now agrees and I get phone calls from new mums asking for advice on names because I wasn't scared to use it. I hope you called your son Caspian too!
